(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) – Daniel A. Lewis, a family law attorney with Hatcher Law Group, was named among the 2015 Leaders in the Law by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly (NCLW). The award recognizes legal professionals statewide who go above and beyond in their profession and community.
Mr. Lewis focuses his practice on a wide variety of family law matters including divorce, child custody, child support, property distribution, alimony and domestic violence. He represents clients in litigation, mediation, negotiation and the Collaborative Law process.
Mr. Lewis was named to the 2015 Rising Stars list by North Carolina Super Lawyers; he also received the Martindale-Hubbell Client Distinction Award earlier this year.
In addition to his daily practice, Mr. Lewis is dedicated to various community service efforts. He is a regular speaker at the Mecklenburg County Women’s Commission’s Family Law Clinic, a free service open to all women that features a volunteer attorney who addresses family law issues. He has also worked as a volunteer attorney with the Safe Alliance Legal Representation Project, which provides pro bono counsel to domestic violence survivors seeking civil protective orders. In addition, Mr. Lewis recently joined the Clayworks board of directors and was named board secretary. In August 2015, he was elected to a third term on the executive committee of the Mecklenburg County Collaborative Family Law Practice Group.
Mr. Lewis earned his JD from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, in 2002 and his BA from Union College in 1998.
