The attorney's role in collaborative law is to advise the client as to the applicable laws of his/her case, advise the client as to a range of reasonable outcomes of resolving the issues, negotiate with the other attorney, represent the client's interest in a constructive and non-confrontational manner in the four way meetings, assist the client in making certain that the necessary documentation and financial information is exchanged and reviewed and advise client?s when third party experts issues (business evaluators, asset appraisers, therapists or counselors, etc.) are needed for matters.
