FAQs

A Separation Agreement may simply be a written agreement acknowledging that the parties separated on a certain date and have agreed to live separate and apart.  Typically, however, “Separation Agreement” is the short hand terminology used for a more complete agreement which resolves all issues between the spouses including, but not limited to, the distribution of property, the waiver of alimony or the amount and duration of the payment of alimony, the details regarding the custody of the children, the provisions regarding the support of the children, the payment of college expenses, the maintenance of life insurance and the resolution of any other matters between the spouses.
