FAQs

Unless a third party has assumed the role of a parent and created a responsibility for support of that child in writing, then they typically have no obligation to support the minor child. Rather, should a third party have custody of a minor child, child support is calculated by utilizing the incomes of the parents of the child. Then, upon calculation, the parents will each be responsible for payment of that amount to the custodian of the child.
