FAQs

Often, in a custody action, each party must show the court evidence that would assist a judge in making a determination as to the best interests of the child. Sometimes this evidence comes only through testimony of parents, family, and friends that are close to the children. Testimony may also come in the form of teachers, counselors, coaches, and other people who are involved in the children's lives. This evidence is presented through their testimony and/or documentary evidence. All evidence must be offered in compliance with the North Carolina rules of evidence. Please consult a qualified family law attorney with specific questions for your case.
