“For as long as I can remember, friends and family members told me that I should be a lawyer. Even though becoming a lawyer is exactly what I have wanted do so since I was about fifteen years old, as is typical of young adults, I went to college with the intention to do anything but what my family thought I should do. Thankfully, my desire to be a lawyer overcame my desire to be contrarian and after receiving a degree in psychology at Florida State University it was off to law school at the University of North Carolina where I quickly discovered that I had a passion for the study of Family Law. After law school I went to work for a small, general practice firm so that I could get a taste of everything. It was not long before I realized that my passion for the study of family law translated into a passion for the practice of family law.
I feel quite lucky because I enjoy what I do. From the first meeting with a client to the final disposition of a case I am there to guide my clients through the most difficult, confusing, and emotional journey of their lives. Not only do I represent my clients in negotiation or litigation of their cases, I educate them on the law, help them make decisions, and advocate for the best possible result. Although I cannot guarantee the outcome of a particular case, I can guarantee that I will devote my knowledge and skill to my client’s case and will travel the difficult journey with them."
